My name is Raul (Rick) Rodriguez. I was born in Miami, Florida to Cuban immigrant parents, and we moved to Georgia before my second birthday. Growing up in a Cuban household in the U.S. shaped my values, especially the importance of family, honesty, and respect for others. From an early age, I found myself observing people and wondering what shaped them into who they are, which ultimately led me into the helping profession.

I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2003. Over the past two decades, I’ve worked in a range of settings including hospitals, crisis response, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient care. I currently provide individual, family, and couples counseling for clients dealing with mental health and substance use concerns.

My clinical approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care. I also have experience facilitating DBT groups and conducting comprehensive assessments and treatment planning. In addition to direct care, I’ve held leadership roles such as Clinical Lead and Clinical Director, supervising teams, supporting program development, and participating in clinical audits and accreditation processes.

I’ve spent a significant portion of my career in crisis and hospital settings, conducting emergency assessments and coordinating care with psychiatrists and medical teams. These experiences have shaped a practical, grounded approach to therapy.

The biggest influences in my life have been my mother and grandfather, who modeled a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to others. I’ve also served as a guardian and foster parent to teenage boys, which gave me a strong appreciation for the challenges families face.

I am fluent in Spanish and enjoy working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
